Incident Detection Screen Not Showing on 830

Today, whilst riding I had a false incident alert, after I braked suddenly to make a turn.

But the incident detection screen didn't show up on the 830 (FW 8.20), so I couldn't cancel it.

I heard the alert via my phone, and also saw it on the Connect app after I'd unlocked my phone. But I was too late to cancel the alert email notifications being sent out.

Has anyone else experienced this bug. Sorry, I meant "feature"?

Thanks.

  • I found that pretty much any notification that occurs immediately after the incident detection - whether it be an upcoming segment notification, or a lap counter, or really any other screen - this will cancel/hide the crash detection screen and there's no way to get back to it to cancel the outgoing emergency messages.  Super annoying and I saw in another thread from over a year ago that someone from Garmin had submitted a bug report about this.  Probably just something we'll have to live with forever.

  • Thank you for your reply and help.

Your last line "Probably just something we'll have to live with forever".

That pretty much sums up Garmin and the 830 in regards to fixing problems Wink
