Turn indications during navigation not present

Hi all,

I've a problem similar to this

https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/cycling/f/edge-830/229638/absent-no-navigation-shown

but I think is not exactly the same.

When I start navigation, and I choose to be guided to the starting point, Garmin 830 is able to show me every turn indication, but when I reach the starting point no more indication are shown (I'm only able to see the magenta line on the track). I started using Garmin 830 on April and, at the beginning, I was able to see turn indication even after reaching the starting point.

In addition, in a climb during navigation, Garmin automatically switched from altimetry to navigation near a turn, now doesn't (altimetry mode is fixed).

Can you tell me why the behaviour changed?

Thank you in advance

  • If you select the navigate to start point the unit does navigate you to the start point as you have found out but it does not then navigate you along the course you selected.  You have to choose to navigate the course again.  This is just how it is programmed and it has always been this way.

Previously you must have navigated yourself to the start point or been close to it so it didn't give the option to navigate to start point.

  • Thank you Wongataa, so I'll try either start close to the starting point or restart the navigation twice once reached that point.

Only another question: is related, in your opinion, the missing switch altimetry->navigation during a climb near a turn?

    Thank you

  • Hi Wongataa, I found out the cause of my problem: entered the Navigation- > Saved routes section I opened the settings (three horizontal lines) and I realized that the first switch option Show turns was turned off.

After turning it on it's all ok.

Hope it can be helpful to other people with the same problem.

    Thank you
