Climb Pro doesn't detect climbs

Hi!

Strange thing happened to me on the past weekend. I was riding this course - https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/74001959 and my Edge 830 detected only one climb (and it was not the steepest one on the course). However, my partner's Edge 530 shows 5 climbs on that course.

Edge 830 climbs - Edge 830 upcoming climbs

- Edge 830 Climb Pro settings

- Edge 530 upcoming climbs on the same course

Both devices are on the same software version(8.20) and have the same Climb Pro settings. Please let me know if you need additional details.

I've contacted Garmin Support and they have created corresponding ticket for that issue. I will update this post once it will be resolved.

Seems to be a bug in the 830 software. Sent the course from your link to my Edge 830: Only 1 climb.

Sent it to my Fenix 6xPS: 5 climbs.

Maybe the filter is not matching what the UI is showing on the 830. Try changing it to a different value and hen back to all.

The 530 and 830 share the same code so unless the units were on different builds I would expect them to give the same results.

I will try the course and see what I get.

Are you sure that the same Couse is on the 530 that is linked above. Those climbs don't appear to match the elevation profile.

I've loaded that course on the 530/830 and get one climb, which is what I would expect looking at the profile even with the all filter on.

I'm not sure we are looking at the same course. I loaded it on to a Fenix 6 and only got the one climb. This matched what I got on the 530 and 830.

How are you getting the course onto the units.

I'm using Garmin Express

I use "Send to device" feature and sync the device with Connect phone app to get the course on device.

Yes, the same course is on both devices. They use the same version of map - Routable Cycle map of Europe 2021.10.

I was experimenting with uploading this course to devices, and found strange behavior on Edge 530. Initially it showed 809 m of total ascent for the course, and after deleting and re-sending the course to 530 via Connect app it showed 727 m of total ascent(as on 830). I've created the copy for that course (connect.garmin.com/.../74723313), and uploaded it to 530. Now there are 2 same courses on 530 and for one total ascent is 727 m and for other - 809 m...

Anyway, I'm not sure what are the correct values and why they differ.
