Uploading activities to Connect

The calendar will show you everything you've done with only a very broad way to sort it out. What you're looking for, a much more detailed and nuanced sort,  will be under "Reports".  Select "Progress Summary" and then you can break out the data per Garmin activity type (mountain biking, road biking, hiking, etc) by week, month, year, activity, custom dates and so on.

To get your activity to fall into one of Garmins predefined activity types- under "Default Ride Type" (when editing the Activity profile on your device), pick the one that best describes what you're doing (road, mountain, commuting, gravel, etc) and Connect will automatically tag the ride for you during the upload. You can also manually change it in Connect later on if you recorded it in the wrong profile, along with tweaking the sub category.

What it won't do is identify the equipment used- it'll assign none or your default selection for you (under editing gear). You have to manually make that change on the activity page or the dashboard (if you have your most recent activity as being displayed) as neither Connect nor your device will do that for you.
