Wow! I just bought the 830 and no tones. I checked the forum boards and this problem has been identified for years. Some people have no problem, others do. Is this flaky hardware? Why do I not hear/see anything from Garmin on this issue? The new beta release, 7.19 has no mention of increasing the volume or any fix in that area. Do I have to take this thing back?
