Mine will do both. Reboot and/or freezes, and I'm just riding. If it freezes I can hold down the power button and it will reboot and it will unlock where I left off. However on my last ride I did that and it seemed to be working ok but when I got home and uploaded the ride the total data was correct showing a total of 100 miles for 5 hrs 13 mins but the detailed data below the only showed dat for 25 miles.
