Difficulty connecting to MacBook Air

Trying to connect to my MacBook Air. A popup indicates that I need to plug in my device, but then nothing happens. Any ideas?

I would agree with Wongataa suggesting you make sure your cable is data as well as power, and would also recommend connecting via a different USB port if possible. Is this through a USB C hub? I understand…

How are you trying to connect it to the Macbook? You need to use a USB cable. You need to make sure the USB cable is a data and power one, not just power.

I would agree with Wongataa suggesting you make sure your cable is data as well as power, and would also recommend connecting via a different USB port if possible. Is this through a USB C hub? I understand that may be necessary depending on which MacBook Air you have, but that's another variable to solve for.

Thanks, I tried the wtong cable. Can’t believe I made such a rookie mistake.
