Get heartrate from DynamicWatch / routeCourse in Edge 830 data

Hello everyone,

I just bought the Garmin 830. Sometimes when I take a wrong route, it just tells me tot turn back and continues to say I have to turn around, not giving me an alternative route. So I use the Forerunner 645 Music with the app DynamicWatch, on which I have exactly the same route. Advantage of it is that when I ride the wrong direction, the arrow gives me the way to get back on the route again. I know, it maybe overstraining, but when I'm in a place I don't know, it helps me driving the right direction. Anyway, when I put the ride from DynamicWatch in Garmin Connect, I have my heart rate too. Is it possible to export that heart rate from the DynamicWatch ride to the one I downloaded from the Garmin 830? I don't have a heart rate strap... Or are there easier solutions for this whole story......?

Thanks for a/ reading the whole story and b/ you're answer(s)!

  • There's a setting on your watch to broadcast your HR over ANT+ during activities.  Then your Edge 830 can pick it up as if you were wearing a HR strap, and include it in its activity recording.

This works when using dwMap on your watch just like it does when using a built-in app like Ride (disclosure--I am the developer of dwMap).

    • Thank you very much for answering my question! I’ll try to do it very soon and then share my experience.
