Updated the latest version of maps (2 days ago) and went in a 50 miles gravel race today. Had the course uploaded on the 830, was working fine the 7.83 miles in my unit ( and that of a teammate's) blinked off. I was able to get a going again but the course functionality was really wonky and elevation didn't work the rest of the riace i.e. in a 12% grade it showed -4% grade and the final elevation number was low by 4,000 feet. Also, the climb indicator and directions never resumed.
Was it the maps update? Can I remove the update? Can I send my 830 back? I bought it for these features, if this happens again I don't want the unit.
