Disable Virtual Partner

I have Garmin 830

i created first time a course and it forced me to use Virtual Partner.
l didn’t like it and want to disable it.
How to do it?

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Garmin. I did not buy the Garmin 830 to have a “ virtual partner”. I bought it for directions and stats. Not being able to disable it is nonsensical. Please give me the choice…

Not possible to turn it off on the 830, you could on the Edge 800. You can reduce the speed of the virtual partner though…

Sadly Garmin lost the technology to turn off VP like in my old 810. I create routes on plotaroute.com and when I download a route I set the Virtual Partner speed to 40 mph - the highest setting. You'll have the VP for part of your ride, but eventually it will complete the course and be out of the way.

The 810 has the ability to turn off VP. Apparently Garmin lost that technology after that device.
