How many activities are stored on my Edge 830 devices

I bought my Garmin 830 device last year in July. I was riding ad tracking my rides since July. Today I checked the activities folder on the device, but not all activities are listed. Is there a maximum count of activities which are listed? If so, can I turn this feature of? I have a lot of space left on my device which is unused.

    200 is the limit. It then start deleting older ones to allow newer ones to be created.

    That is sad. So I lost the data of a summer. Is it possible to configure a higher value? My device has a lot of free space left. The activities are very small files.

    It is not possible to configure a higher value. But if you configured your Edge to upload your activities automatically to Garmin Connect all activities are stored there.

    Though the newer units now have a much larger storage capacity the Edge is not really designed to be long term data storage device. 

    It is designed around activities being recorded on the unit and then transferred to some type of long term storage such as Garmin Connect or other third part sites or applications.

    Historically keeping the amount of history on the unit to a small number of files has also given better unit performance. This may no longer be the case with the newer units.

    Thank you for this information.

    Just in case, that this massive storage on my device has to be just empty and unuseable for my purposes, i would recommend to warn about this bagatelle. 200 slots for user trips is enough, if the user got this information. There is no information in the manual or pop up on the device. Would it not be great if the user got a tiny message: hey budy, do something, or else i am going to delete all your older rides. I would appreciate it.
