Compatible Map for Garmin Edge 830

Hi,

I recently got the Garmin 830 from US back to India, hoping that I can use purchase the compatible map for India and continue using it.

I was looking at City Navigator® South Asia NTU ( https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/635454 ). However edge 830 is not listed as the compatible device.

There are a lot of older devices and newer devices in the list, however edge 830 is not mentioned. How is the compatibility determined ?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

The site garmin.openstreetmap.nl does not work properly anymore.

You can try the Garmin OSM (latin1) map from https://extract.bbbike.org/ or a bicycle specific alike, or whatever version you prefer.

I don't know what the coverage is like in India, but the free openstreetmap maps are great in Europe and work fine on Garmin devices. Try garmin.openstreetmap.nl/

Thanks Chris, this looks promising I will definitely give it a try.

But still curious to know what determines the compatibility of the map with the device. The general mechanism of reading the map should be same across.

Hi Muneet , just bought the Garmin edge 830 and same problem with getting a maps for India , anyway how to do it
