Disabling Di2 D-Fly gear limit beeps help

Hi All,

When I get to the end of the gear range (50x11 or 34x40) my Edge 830 beeps.  I disabled it a long time ago.  Now I got a 1030 Plus and for the life of me I can't remember how to disabled it on the 830.  I went through every setting and also the D-Fly sensor details but can't find it.  If anyone has the answer please let me know.  Thanks.

  • Got the same beep on my 830 going down to 11T on 50T, how did you disable the beep? Thanks.

  • Are you wanting this one notification turned off, or all notification sounds turned off? I'm just curious if you want tones for something else you're using your 830 for.

  • Hi Blake,

I just want the 'gear limit' beep off while keeping all other alerts off.  However I just fixed it but how I did it is so weird.  I spent so much time yesterday trying to find the particular menu item to shut off the 'gear limit' beep to no avail.  Today I decided to add my other D-Fly sensor (I have two bikes with D-Fly).  And strangely under the D-Fly sensor details the option 'Tone' appeared.  So I turned it off.  Then I woke up the other D-Fly, the one that I was trying so hard yesterday to turn off the beep and sure enough, that option also appeared today (along with the 'shift mode' option which wasn't appearing yesterday).  So this is all very very strange.  Why would two menu items under D-Fly sensor details show up one day but not another day?  On all of my fix attempts the D-Fly sensor was turned on and connected to my Edge.  Maybe this is a bug of some sort.  If others are having the same issue they could try it on different days, or at different times of the day.  And perhaps they get lucky and see the 'tone' option under the D-Fly sensor detail.  Thank you Blake for reading my original post.

  • I just did a test and the "Tones" option only appears when the 830 is connected to the D-Fly device.

  • Thanks for the feedback.  That might be true and it's done by design.  However in my environment even when D-Fly is turned on and connected to the Edge the 'tone' and 'shift mode' options don't consistently show up.  Weird.

  • Maybe you have to mich interferences and ANT is not working good at the environment you tried it.
