Feature Request: Bluetooth Smart Trainer connectivity

In a future update please could we have bluetooth connectivity built in for indoor smart trainers. Currently this is only supported by ANT+ but this is plagued by dropouts. Bluetooth does not experience anywhere near as much interference as ANT+ so would be a much better option for connecting indoor trainers. Most people when using indoor trainers will use bluetooth headphones, WiFi and just about everything else of the list of things that can interfere with ANT+.

  • I agree for this feature request....

  • " Most people when using indoor trainers will use bluetooth headphones, WiFi and just about everything else of the list of things that can interfere with ANT+." as it interferes with BT too because both protocols are working on same 2.4GHz frequency...

the only (and best) solution is: disable the 2.4GHz WIFI in the router and using only on 5GHz, for this it needs to using 5GHz wifi card/dongle/antenne in every computer/mobile/tablet/etc.

BT headphones: only the BT 5.0 or greater is ok, the older BT 4.0 headphones have no interference mitigation feature. Or use headphones with direct cable connection, that is the most secure way...

I dont have dropouts in 99.9% , yearly 1-2pcs maximum, and i'm heavy indoor trainer user (via ANT+ and with lots of other ANT+ sensors) and with lots of electrical devices which are using wifi (via 5GHz)

just FYI, when You have dropouts on ANT+, You would lose the signal on BT too just there the BT error correction can "fill" the missing data packets with the value of the previous data packets for a while (so You wont see 0 watts or other 0 values but the data will be not real, it will be "interpolated" between the 2 real values...

  • I also agree for this feature request!!
