Incident detection edge

Today during our ride my partner crashed into a pole right next to me. I will of course immediately stop to see if everything is okay. At the time of the crash my edge 830's incident detection goes off. How is this possible?

Braking hard is enough to trigger the incident detection. Happens once in a while for me.

What I've noticed, after such a false positive the incident alarm starts to trigger on my 830 almost at every road lights stop, so I have to restart the device, or to switch incident detection off. it is really annoying sometimes
