ANT+ Sensor search and Shimano DI2

I have paired the DI2 WU-111 with my Edge 830, no issue here and all works as expected.

However there is one scenario it does not:

1) switch on the Edge
2) start riding with my bicycle but do not switch gears in the first minutes so the DI2 stays dormant.
3) edge finds the speed en cadance sensor

The Edge keeps searching but at some point in time it stops and the DI2 interface is not established even when I wakeup the DI2 by switching gears.

The only way to fix is to power cycle the Edge.

Is there another way to have the Edge restart the ANT sensor search?

(this invariant of the firmware version).

The Edge has 2 minute timer on searching for new sensors after starting the timer so that it is not searching all the time.

You can force to start searching by swiping down from the top of the screen to bring up the control pages and tap on the sensor option.

I typically just do a gear shift before switching the Edge on.

Or just press one of the buttons in the hoods to wake the di2 up.
