Why was the radar clear tone removed? I kinda liked it a lot!

On version 6.25 beta a small beep was present when the radar was clear. I really appreciated the feature since I did not have to look at the device to know if no cars where behind me.

Why was it removed?

    I like it too but it's really hard to hear the beep since the ambient noise is higher as a car is passing.  The Wahoo Bolt has this tone but the Bolt is much much louder than the 830 to begin with, and I can clearly hear the tone from the Bolt when I ride with my riding buddy.  To answer your question please see the attached from Garmin from another thread.

    "The "all clear" tone has been removed from this maintenance release to ensure we deliver the best experience. We plan to reintroduce the all-clear tone in future beta testing."

    I will have to echo the copy and pasted text from that we have removed this from the latest beta in order to conduct some more internal testing/work. We plan on bringing this back in the future as we want you to have this feature to use with your radar.

    Thank you Blake.  I really look forward to the improved version of this feature.  Hopefully there will be an option to extend the current short beep for those who have trouble hearing.  And a shorter beep for those who likes the alert to be less prominent.  Two options for everyone, similar to the existing main alert tone.

    Pauloalexneves- I'm currently still on beta 6.25 since I want to keep the all-clear tone.  You can avoid upgrading to 7.0 by deleting the GUPDATE.GCD file.  But of course you must be running 6.25 to get the tone so you might have to go back to 6.25 if you're already on 6.26 or 7.0.

    I also liked the feature, but not the tone itself.

    I had no trouble hearing it, but it was exactly the same tone as next turn announcement during navigation, so it was really confusing at times.

    No problem with the tone, for me it was loud enough. Really hope that the feature gets back soon.

    The issue with the tone is that when one is wearing a skull cap or a balaclava it covers the ears.  Plus the ambient noise is higher when a car passes.  I've noticed that Garmin changed the timing of the tone from 6.22 to 6.25.  6.25 was delayed just a bit to allow for a lower ambient noise.

    Yes I love the all clear tone.  My buddy's Wahoo Bolt has it and it's much much louder than my 830.  I'm still running beta 6.25.  I won't upgrade until the tone is added back.

    Why not giving the users the decision to switch on/off such audio alert?
    It's not an easy task to keep all happy, but giving such user options would at least allow the users to decide and use what he/she may/may not like in their units.

    I suspect that there are legal implications of adding an all clear beep that need to be covered by a user accepting various terms/conditions. 

    The terms/conditions need to be add and acknowledge by the user somewhere before the feature can be made public.
