830 & UT800 in Auto Mode?

I'm confused as to how the UT800 is to function at night in Auto Mode/Auto Beam Adjustment. When I originally bought the UT800 I paired it to and Edge 530 and at night the UT800 would flash (night flash?) in full auto mode. I lost my 530 and replaced it with an 830. Using the UT800 with the 830 in full auto mode at night, the UT800 would remain solid adjusting brightness with speed; no night flash. On my ride to work today (in the dark), the UT800 is now running in night flash mode again with the 830 settings are full auto. This seems to be after loading Beta 6.25 SW into the Edge.

After all that, I guess my question is how is the UT800 suppose to operate in Auto at night?

I would expand that question to the RTLs.
Would be nice if Garmin could document when the Watch/Edge decides to use wich light mode.

Just to clarify, you said you are now seeing the night time flash when in Full Auto mode?

Hi Former Member. Yes, full auto prior to sunrise and dark. The UT800 was in night flash mode. I double checked the Edge settings were still in auto because the behaviour was different than my previous dark ride.
