Garmin Edge 830 Stuck In Daylight Saving Time

I've gone through all the messages relating to the time not syncing after the time was turned back. However, none of the solutions have solved my issue. I have deleted my device (bluetooth) from my phone to include the Garmin Connect app as well but to no avail the time remains an hour ahead. Is this is a bug in the software or is there something I'm missing, as I have only had this Garmin since July of this year (purchased new).

  • Had similar issue because I had GPS turned off after the time change to save battery life since I didn't need it. Once I turned on GPS the time updated to the proper time.

  • Have you made sure you are in a profile that has the GPS turned on and got a good GPS lock?  Once there is a good GPS lock the device should  update to the correct time.  If it doesn't I would look at reinstalling the time zone map which has the details of the DST settings.

  • I would agree with the other folks who have suggested getting a GPS lock. If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would recommend connecting your device to your computer and syncing with Garmin Express to see if there may be a time zone map update. The latter solution is a little less likely, but definitely may be the cause of the issue.

  • Without GPS, time should sync over wifi or via your phone, looks like the code to do this doesn't deal with daylight savings time changes properly. Same thing happened when we changed to BST earlier this year the time was off until i got a GPS sync.

The issue was resolved by connecting to Garmin Express.

  • Power off device (not just put it into sleep) and then switch on and it should update time
