Multiple issues

1. I used to be able to download the GPX from my Edge 800 by plugging the USB cable into laptop, but using new Edge 830 the drive is not visible - any ideas how to get this to appear?

2. In the first couple of months of using the Edge 830 any ride I did used to auto-sync to Strava, but this has now stopped. Garmin Connect show that Strava is connected, but even when trying to upload the ride direct from the ride summary page this frequently fails with message 'Upload failed'

3. Hopefully an easy way to do this, but when following a route the screen automatically changes to a zoomed in version of the map which can be a bit frustrating when mid-interval session and knowing the section of the route I'm on. Is there a way of switching this off?

Try some different cables. Some USB cables are "charge only" and others may be defective. The unit boots up, turns on, and then takes a minute to switch to mass storage mode.

Turn off auto zoom if it's on.

Drive works on my 830 so you probably have a cable or setup issue. Did you know you can download your rides from Garmin Connect also? That can save you bothering to plug the device in. I know the drive for my 830 looks different than the drive form my Vivoactive 4S. The 830 gets a drive letter, the watch does not so it shows up in a different place in explorer or whatever you are using.
