Edge 830 firmware 6.20 breaks GPS+GLONASS mode. Looses GPS satellites during ride. Had to choose GPS mode instead of GPS+GLONASS and then satellites were found.
My 830 is running latest fw and gps fw and did a 37 miles ride last Sunday and had no issues. Actually, before in fw5 in the same route i used to lose gps when crossing 3 tunnels and got surprised in this last ride that gps wasn't lost in the same route. Am using the same config GPS+GLONASS as you mention.
I had an issue that seems related. After 40km or so, the Edge 830 got the screen frozen and it was impossible to get it to recover. So I gave up during my ride. After my ride, I realized it lost all my ride track. I was upset. And I was using GPS+Glonass mode. It is supposed to be better than GPS only. I will try GPS only mode. But this is unacceptable from Garmin to have such issues...
happened to me y'day with 6.20 and GPS+GLONASS. Changing to GPS did not help. turned off GPS and after few seconds 'GPS firmware updated' was shown at the bottom of the screen, enabling back any GPS combo did not help. Had to save the ride having already lost few miles and reboot the device.

Garmin-Matthew can this be analyzed? I was hoping that I will no longer see RTL TRAP with 6.20+ version
I have GPS version 4.50 and Garmin firmware 6.20.
Try to do a factory reset (if You didnt do it yet) and lets see what will happen. If You connect the 830 via USB to PC (WIN) , do You get error message about Garmin drive or not? (on MAC unfortunately this message is not available if the Garmin's file system damaged)
I just tried USB to PC and didn't get an error message. However, I did a reset yesterday from the system menu (data + parameters). I read somewhere we can do a hard reset too, do you have the procedure just in case I need it?
Nevertheless, as I did the menu reset, I'll try this week-end to use it like this (GPS only and no GLONASS) and see if the issue is gone. My friend has the exact same Garmin and biking together, he had no issue with same versions of software...
Thanks for your help.
