Heart Rate Sensor Connect to 2 devices?

I have an older Garmin HR sensor HRM2-SS I am curious if it is possible to have it provide data to two devices at once.  I would like it to provide data to both my 830 and Vivoactive4S as Garmin does not use data from the 830 for its health information only from the watches.  I find the HR data from the watch to be consistently low.  On average by 10 -15 BPM.  I think the ANT specs allow this however I know my Wahoo Ticker Fit will not do it.

  • ANT+ heart rate sensors broadcast HR data and any number of ANT+ receivers (cyclocomputers, sports watches, even some cell phones) can simultaneously receive it.   Bluetooth is different in that it requires an established two-way link and is generally limited to one device.

  • Thanks.  I tried today and found it worked okay.  I suspect the issue I saw with the Wahoo was that it would not connect to the phone (bluetooth) while it was connected to my edge (ANT+).  I will try the Wahoo on 2 ANT receivers soon.

  • IDK about the Wahoo HRM but some devices can simultaneously connect via BT and broadcast ANT+.   You can find more detailed info on the Wahoo HRM at the DCRainmaker website.
