Can Garmin Edge measure potholes and road smoothness?

My roads are garbage.  Fresh pavement is bumpy and granular.  Buses put big dents in the tarmac of the bicycle lanes.  It's quite pathetic.  I'd like a way of measuring how poor our road conditions in the bicycle lanes really are so we can get them improved.  Improved roads = better and more cyclists = more Garmin computers sold!  Doesn't have to be a default 'on' feature, but it would be nice to be able to record and look over the heat maps and improve the busy and most dilapidated areas first.  I know my powerpod has accelerometers that could be used, but integrating them into a heat map with the Garmin would be most beneficial.  I could also mount my phone and derive the displacements, but obviously Garmin integration would be preferred.  Anything noticed as a greater than 1/4" bump in less than 6' or something similar.

Can the Garmin accelerometer, for incident detection and theft, be used to measure road smoothness and evaluate potholes while riding?
