What is this symbol for?

I am referring to the symbol right next to the power meter symbol - any idea what this could be and how I disable it?

I think it is for home trainer

After starting the timer the Edge will continue to search for previously paired sensors for 2 minutes. After that it stops searching so disabling the sensor will not really save any battery.

It just so happens Garmin are selling these fine Tacx trainers that even works sometimes!

Yep. Garmin bought Tacx in February 2019.

Last Winter, I used the indoor trainer profile with an ICG IC7 bike at a local gym. It may be a while before using the gym is an option, so I am considering a smart trainer.

Yeah. Using the smart trainer a lot more since Covid. Though I've experimented using the Garmin with it, I basically just use my computer/tablet to control and record the trainer with Zwift, Trainerroad, Rouvy, or whatever. For me, there's no benefit in interposing the Garmin.

The IC7 bikes at the gym send power and cadence over Ant+. Unfortunately their app only reports averaged data, so I used the 830 to capture that data.
