Virtual Partner - Strava Route

I dont know if im being silly, or if im doing something wrong, but here is my predicament.

Virtual partner, set your pace, great. All fine.

Load a strava route, virtual partner changes. I cant set the pace?

Why can i not set the pace when im using a loaded route?

Help please

Hello,

When you load a strava route, the pace of the virtual partner is coming directly from strava.

Strava gives you an average speed of your last 4 weeks ride i think.

Do you know if it does the same thing if you load a route from Garmin connect?

Never upload a route from garmin connect so i can't tell you.

The main problem with this is that a lot of us use the device for both road and MTB which basically renders the virtual partner useless. Your average speed over the last 4 weeks of activity just lies somewhere in the middle since you blend both road and off road activities which makes it irrelevant for both
