Strava segments:

I have a theory... when the strava segments are nested you only see the largest segment... but if you leave the segment route it appears that the garmin does not reset the search function and does not look for other segments. Ive noticed that the segment finding and alerts appears to be less robust with 5.5. IF this is correct is there a way to fix this?

If segments are nested or overlap, which ever one starts first takes the processing slot until such time as it completes or is terminated. Then the unit will start looking for other segments.

perhaps... but this may be where the code may need to be re examined as at least with my unit it is not successfully finding the majority of the nested segments or branched segments when i deviate from the route I started.

If you are following a course it will not pick-up segments outside of the course as the only segments it is looking for are the ones referenced in the course file.

No courses were actively being followed so that shouldn't have been an issue. The latest updates seem to somehow have caused a deterioration in the ability to locate and start new segments, and it seems to be worse when i move off of a current segment
