How to install 2020.10 maps on 830

I have not been able to as of yet.  A friends 1000 got the update, but his wife's 1000 has not and my wife's 1000 has not.  Go figure.

In Garmin Express I see: Map Options - Routable Cycle map of Europe 2020.10

But I can't find where on my 830 it tells me what version I have installed.

In the past, maps have taken so long to download and install. That I've left the dialogue box in the background. And sometimes the map has failed to install properly, so I don't know which version I'm currently using on the device.

There is a possibility to know the installed maps. Go to the Activity Profile screen, choose a profile to see the details, select "Navigation" in the menu, then "MAP", then "Map information" to select an active map, and there are all the installed maps with their version.

I use a french device, so maybe the menu names could differ a little bit.

I see the map information now.

I was able to install it ok via Garmin Express (mac) - and yes you can see it listed in the map information section under Activity Profiles. I haven't really used it much due to lockdowns - but I notice the ability to have the map display in 'night mode' (black background) has disappeared again. This happened with 2018.10 also and only reappeared in a later update. Ironically this means I would happily go back to 2019.10!

Got the same issue with my 830, stuck with 2019 maps. My wife's 830 has the latest 2020 Trailforks and 2020 Maps but I can't get them somehow. Asked the same question couple of weeks ago on this forum then email garmin directly but haven't got any reply so far. Very upset

I installed "https://www.garmin.com/en-US/software/express/windows/" on my PC. Once installed, I connected my Edge 830 with the USB cable, and  the Express software syncs with my Edge 830. As soon as it synced it notified me there was a map update to 2020.1 and then started the update. Note that the update appears to take several hours (mine is still in progress).

I have tried two different Windows PCs with Garmin Express, neither shows the maps. I just uninstalled Garmin Express from one PC and had it remove all settings, then installed it again. Connected Edge 830 to it. Still no 2020.10 maps available to add to 830. I wonder if this is a phased rollout like the firmware updates are. Garmin-Matthew do you have any updates for us on this issue?

The new maps still haven't shown up for my 830 yet.  Talk about a looooong phased roll out.
