Humidity Tracking / App / Widget

Garmin Edge 530/830 added heat acclimation, which will automatically take into account heat/humidity for performance/recovery metrics.  In theory that means the head unit measures humidity, just like it does temperature.  Is there are way (i.e. setting, app, widget, etc) to record this to the fit file and see humidity over time like all other metrics on Garmin Connect?

  • The humidity comes via the phone connection from the weather service so the feature only works if you are paired and ride with your phone.

Bummer, but thanks for the info!  I was hoping to be able to track it during indoor rides.  My utility closet is big enough with decent ventilation that I shouldn't see large increases in humidity as I sweat, but it would be nice to confirm that with data.

  • Of course that's easy enough to verify with a stand-alone humidity/temp gauge you can look at while you ride your trainer.  As for temp, Edge units don't do very well with that as the temp sensor measures the internal temp of the unit rather than the free ambient temp, so only slowly responds to and is usually offset from the ambient temp.
