Garmin segments

Hi guys,

Question about the Garmin segments use.

There is alot of fuzz about Strava segments, but i would prefer to use the Garmin segments.

Is there a possibility to get notifications on the Edge 830 when a Garmin segment starts?

Because i dont get any pings when a segment starts or ends?

PS.: on Garmin connect: my segment settings are on Garmin segments.

Have you sent the segments you want to use to the Edge. Do they show on the Edge?

They are on the edge... But i want them to appear when i cross that segment, is that possible?

I dont want to select them and open them.

They should automatically trigger when you cross the start point if they are Enabled on the Edge. Check that are enabled and not disabled.

If they are enabled are you doing any type of navigation such as using the navigation to a POI, address or executing a course you have download to the unit.

Which settings to enable? Where in the menu?

Yes, most of the time there is an automatic created course.

Is that an issue?

Is the course is coming from Garmin Connect? It needs to be for Garmin segments to execute when following the course.

Normally this should not be an issue, but there appears to be a bug currently with newly created courses that is messing up the segment data that gets reference in the course file.
