Can't seem to upgrade from 5.2 to 5.5

No automatic process starts to update the firmware on the Edge 830. It currently is on version 5.2. Garmin Express says it's up to date with Software 5.0 (?). I've tried to force the upgrade from the system->about menu on the device itself, but it says there is no update. I uninstalled Garmin Express, redownloaded it (v. 6.21.0.0), but it still says I have v. 5.0 installed on my Edge 830 and says everything is up to date. Is this a phased rollout and I should just wait? Or are there other trouble shooting steps I can take? Thanks!

Read the 5.50 post more closely and saw that you are doing a phased rollout. It said you were at 10% at 4pm two days ago. Any idea when the rollout will be complete? Thanks!

Mine showed up on my 830 after turning it on and it says Ready to install

And again no download link in his forum for early adapters, those who helped Garmin with their comments to keep on improving their beta-software

I still do not have the update either. The post announcing it is 3 days old now. How long does a roll out take? In the past I got updates within a couple of days.

Looking at the sheer number of forum followers who report this, there seems indeed to be a problem. No statement from Garmin as to the cause and cure, so I'll take the freedom to speculate a bit . Have your pick:

Garmin folks underestimated the server- or network-load for distributing this official release. Unlikely (as they managed this successfully before), but maybe bad planning/coordination when there is simultaneously also a release for a bunch of other Garmin products (Edge 530, 1030, ....). If this is the cause, then we can just hope that in the future Garmin coordinates this better. Big company, big communication issues.
The "phased rollout" software itself has bugs. Wouldn't be a good testimony for the quality (?) of Garmin software.
Someone at Garmin pulled the plug on the "phased rollout" - they detected a posteriori a (severe) bug in the 5.50 software. Worse than option 2.

All pure speculations of course. Wouldn't be necessary if Garmin would just state what is going on. Transparency helps.
