830 vs. 530 and Navigation

I am recently getting back to cycling after moving and have an Edge 820 I purchased in 2017. I forgot how frustrating the touchscreen can be. I am looking to upgrade to either the 830 or 530. It seems to biggest difference in software features is the ability to route to a specific address. On the 830 or 530, am I able to navigate back to where I started if I get lost in the middle of a general ride or some sort of similar scenario? Also any advice on the newly updated 830 touchscreen?

  • Both Edge 830 and 530 have back to start function. The 830 touchscreen works very well, with or without gloves. Is there an update to the screen?

  • The 820 touch screen was terrible.  However, I got a replacement 820 about a year ago and it was much better, usable even, though still not great.  The 830 screen is much better and reliably responsive.  It still is susceptible to rain so you need to lock the screen if it's wet out, but otherwise it works very well.
