GPX files not listed under saved course

Hi,

I have a new 830. When I place a GPX file with Basecamp or manual in the newfiles folder, the GPX is not available under Navigation - Courses - Saved Courses. I tried different GPX files that worked without a problem on my Edge 820. Anyone has suggestions how to fix this?

What are these GPX files? Are they routes? Are they recorded activities? How are you creating them?

When I prepare course using BaseCamp, I import it to Garmin Connect (web). After that I upload it to the Edge. Propably the Edge 830 is able to recognize only FIT files.

I download the files from Strava. When opening the GPX in Basecamp, the GPX is displayed as track.

No. The 830 supports fit, tcx, and gpx files.

That example gpx file is a recorded ride, not a course. You need to convert it into a course for the Garmin to recognise it as a course and have it show up in the saved courses.

On the Edge 820 I didn't have this issue. I download the GPX from Strava and placed it on the newfiles folder without a problem.

Are there tools available convert a recorded ride to a course?
