upload ride??? Where did it upload to?

I used the edge 530 when I did an activity.

I saved the activity

I then went

Menu - History - All activities - then picked the activity I just mentioned -

At this point there is an option to UPLOAD RIDE

I pressed this option and "something happens" - the spinning "ball" appears on the device.

My question is ------ WHERE did it upload to??????

It went to your Garmin Connect account.

This is the 830 forum and Garmin devices upload to Garmin connect.

Have you read your manual..?

I have been using the 830 for 6 months now. My rides usually auto upload to Garmin Connect. Today for the first time I had the exact same scenario happen. I tried to manually upload because auto-upload did not work, ball spins next to word "UPLOADING" until it says upload done. Ride then disappears from 830 history and is not in Garmin connect. Clearly this is uploading somewhere but not to Garmin Connect. I am researching and could use some help from users or Garmin employees smarter than myself. kt

I wonder if there's any log files on the 830 to look into...

Look in the \Garmin\Activities folder on the unit. That is where all the recorded rides are saved. If there are a lot of files the folder may be too full. Delete the files in there or copy them to your computer and do another ride and see what happens. For some reason if the number of log files reaches somewhere around 200 you have reached the limit and things go a bit strange.

Good thoughts, thank you. I did a ride today, it recorded, saved and auto-uploaded to GC as usual. I then looked in the Activities folder and it shows today's ride and past rides except for the ride that 'uploaded' and disappeared from the 830. My manual activity added in GC even downloaded to the 830 correctly but the original ride lost is still a mystery for me. lol

You might want to verify that your device is not linked to 2 accounts. The symptoms you describe, such as the activity seeming to sync somewhere, but not appearing on Connect, would indicate this. See Garmin help document - Data is Missing from My Garmin Account After Syncing
