Creating my own data field/widget

Hi all, while I wait for Garmin to get back to me with my other problem (emergency contact/live track won’t save in my 830), I’ve downloaded various widgets and had a play at setting up my data screen. I’m more or less happy - but every damn data field has large text describing it and small numbers to display!! I know it’s Speed or distance dammit, I want to read it though hehe. So I was wondering if there is a way to design/create your own data fields or widgets?

I can second giving it a try. Do yourself a favor and follow the steps in the programming guide to set download and set up the plugin in eclipse. It will really help with your first project. Once you have…

I can second giving it a try. Do yourself a favor and follow the steps in the programming guide to set download and set up the plugin in eclipse. It will really help with your first project. Once you have the environment set up, it will also help manage the different SDK versions for you. The eclipse plugin also has templates to for each of the different application types to help you get started.

I tried it a couple years ago, now have a moderately popular weather widget in the store.

Ah thanks guys - in my quick search for it before I thought that was only for watches!! See how I go :-)
