UK Ordnance Survey 1:50k (landranger) maps on Edge 830...

Hi - I have an old Edge 800 and I’m thinking of upgrading to a newer device like the Edge 830.

My Edge 800 has a garmin micro-SD card in it which is loaded up with a complete ordnance survey 1:50k map of the UK.

I’m wondering - is there any way to use my os map with the edge 830 (which I know doesn’t have an memory card slot)?

If you bought the maps from Garmin and they were supplied on the micro sd card then no as they are locked to the card and won't work if copied off the card.

Is there no way to unlock the map and then lock it onto the new device?

Not legitimately.

Is there any reason you specifically want OS maps on your device? I find them far too detailed for the small screens on these units and line widths don't scale with zoom level which hinders clarity at higher zooms. Surely you could fins some OSM based maps that would be suitable for you? You may even like the Garmin map that comes with the new Edge units.
