Recording a new trail

Just purchased the 830. I friend is taking me to a new trail tomorrow and I'm confused how to just record the trail as we start and finish it. At the moment, I have no idea as to where it is. Is there an easy way to do this? Cheers!

At the start press the start button. When you finish press the same button again. Select the option to save the activity that appears on the screen. Now your activity has been recorded and saved.
