Brand new Garmin Edge 830 will not turn on

I bought the device less than a month ago to replace my Garmin Edge 810 which I got tired of troubleshooting.  I plugged the 830 into the wall and recharged it. Then took it for a ride today and it would not turn on, even when I held the power button down for 10 seconds.   I had to do the ride without my new 830.  I saw on another thread that others have experienced the same issue.  Is there a fix for the 830?  I can't believe this new device does not work

    I have had exactly the same issue, seems if you leave it a bit after changing it will eventually start turning on.  Not a fix but at least you might be able to use it.  That and Garmin wont bother responding to you via the forum or when you raise a incident ticket.

    Hold the power button down for longer - 30 seconds at least.

    My experience with the 1030 is that if it is charged using the computer port, after charging it will go into sleep mode and use up the battery in a few days. If charged using a plug in charger, it will totally power down after charging. Don't know why this happens so I always use a plug in charger.
