Can you give the option of making the magenta and cyan lines thicker. They were fine on the Edge 800 but are far too skinny and pale now..
You must of been asked this a lot. So can you please do it..

I bet you anything this is THE reason. Imagine if you have a screen that's 1x1 pixel, and you draw a line that's 1 pixel wide, it'll occupy the screen. Now if you double your screen resolution to 2x2 pixels…
It's not a user group though, it's Garmin's official forum!
I concur with the OP, btw.
I've been using these forums for ~10 years now. In the past, Garmin did not monitor them and did not respond despite being hosted by Garmin as their official users' forums. It's only been the past…
I see posts like this frequently and I simply don't understand why it is posted. This is a user group. If you want to suggest a feature change then you need to send it to Garmin on their suggestion page.

I've been using these forums for ~10 years now. In the past, Garmin did not monitor them and did not respond despite being hosted by Garmin as their official users' forums. It's only been the past year or two that they do have representatives on the forums that report issues or requests up the chain to Garmin.
Garmin does have a feature request site:
I'll have to disagree. The Garmin statement defining the forum is:
"A dedicated community for Garmin users to ask questions, provide answers, and share feedback".
Garmin understands that there are many knowledgeable users who will readily answer questions which helps to reduce the calls to Garmins tech support. I agree with Looigi that Garmin has become more active on the forum recently but if you review the many questions asked, you will find only a small percentage of them show a Garmin response. Suggestions for improvements need to be submitted properly at the feature request site.
The line thickness change from what the OP saw on his 800 is most likely due to Garmin switching to OSM maps. The 800 used Garmin maps.

Perhaps the increased resolution of the screen (from 160x240 to 246x322) plays a role in this as well, further enhancing the difference. I also liked the 800's bold lines.
The resolution could very well be the reason. I do recall with my Edge 705 that when I switched from the Garmin maps to the OSM maps, the magenta line did change but I can't remember if it was thinner or thicker. I still have the 705 and I'll try switching maps. That 705 was a great computer but the screen size is too small for these old eyes.
I bet you anything this is THE reason. Imagine if you have a screen that's 1x1 pixel, and you draw a line that's 1 pixel wide, it'll occupy the screen. Now if you double your screen resolution to 2x2 pixels, and keep the same line width to 1 pixel, it'll only occupy half the screen now. Now keep doubling your resolution, but keeping the line width the same, your line will occupy the screen lesser and lesser, hence, gets thinner. The line width is probably calculated as a %age of the screen resolution, and that %age was never adjusted when the resolution changed.
