Re-routing and syncing

Why am I unable to sync a new route from my Garmin Connect (iOS) to my 830 once I've completed the first part of my route. The ride is continuing and the app reports "unable to sync as device is busy". This appears to be a software glitch. Can you please fix it?

  • This is not a glitch - it has been this way on Garmin devices forever.

    The great thing about the 830 is that for the first time you can install widgets to get around the problem of uploading routes from the internet while mid-ride as long as you have a smart phone with you.

    I use Dynamic Watch widget and have a Dynamic Watch account but there are other solutions as well.  also has a great widget to download routes from Ride with GPS and Garmin.

    I love Dynamic Watch because it's the best way to create custom routes on the fly and has a solid web-app to create and save routes. Support is also very good so I took a lifetime licence because the price was so reasonable.
