Activities .fit files “missing”

Hi Everyone,

I’m Ali here from Malaysia. I just bought the Garmin Edge 830 few weeks ago replacing my Wahoo Elemnt Roam since I bought the Fenix 6X Sapphire, just want to use the same ecosystem.

I don’t have any issues before this while using Wahoo. I only managed to do 3 rides since I bought this Edge’s unit. To my surprise, whenever I want to download the .fit file from “Garmin > Activities” there’s only 1 file inside that folder. It should have 3 files since I did 3 rides with this unit.

I need those .fit file to see my shifting from another website which required .fit files.

Anyone know what’s the problem here?

Did you press start before starting for all the activities? If you don't it wont record. If you did start the activities did you save them when you stopped the activities?

Thanks for your reply. Yup I did, and there’s a record in the Edge itself. Everything is there, total rides, distances, even uploaded to GC and Strava.

But, the first 2 rides .fit files are missing in the activities folder when I plugged to my Mac. Only 1 file is in that folder and the recent one.

I too have an Edge 830 and have difficulties with activities not being saved locally. I use the device nearly daily. I save the activity normally, Connect grabs the activity, and it shows up on Strava. However, the last ride showing in the history is from April 13, 2020. My Edge 1030 (that I frequently run concurrently) shows all rides in the history.

How many activity files do you have on your edge? the limit is 200. After that it will upload to connect but will be deleted from the edge

198. The Edge 1030 is currently at 49. I'll delete all from last year and see what happens.

Thanks for the tip. New activities are appearing since I deleted last year's.
