Edge running out of time without GPS on FW5.00 & 5.10

when you use your Edge only with Indoor Profile without GPS, after every use, the time is not syncron to a time server, in the meanwhile it is 3 minutes difference and every day it will be more,

i don't go outside in winter and i haven't GPS in my living rooms!

Garmin Connect Android or Garmin Express Syncs don't correct the time!

We are aware of this issue and there will be a fix for this in the next software update.

Yes this is a major pain and often the device ends up days behind and your workouts don't sync at all, or have completely the wrong date and time on them. GPlama had this issue recently and I was hoping…

I am sorry for the inconvenience. As a workaround you can acquire a GPS signal to update the time on the Edge.

Workaround works quite ok for me. Once a week in a outdoor riding profile (i.e. with GPS enabled) behind the window for a few minutes - all good.

sorry, but that isn't a real workarround for me, it looks more that Garmin won't solve this big problem, i had the same on Edge 1030 with FW 4.0 (it could be possible, that there is the same prob today on actual Edge 1030 FW too)!

it's Winter Time, my bike is in the Pain Cave, i have Internet there, but no GPS and i won't run every day outside to get a GPS to fix this problem!

Really, thats really important otherwise this device is a joke, it's the same when you buy a new mobile phone, but the time on the mobile phone is every time wrong, hope you understand what i mean?

Maybe you should adjust your problem preception. Its a minor inconvenience, not a "big problem". Yes, it should be solved by Garmin, but bringing the device once a week to your living space (which is hopefully above ground) and getting a GPS fix from your window is no big deal....

Thank you very much, now I see light at the end of the tunnel and apologize to my angry posts, it's not your fault!

I will install the beta tonight, but there will probably be feedback in a week, because the time error does not occur immediately.

the other indoor changes sound promising too!
