Training effects Edge 830

From very beginning training effect and recovery time is overcalculated.  It is strange  that after short training recovery time shows by Edge  830  more then 3 days, every training shows status overload.. Probably I have to come back to Edge 520 - always shows proper value.

  • I don't have a definite solution, but there are two things to consider with a new Edge.  First, if you know your FTP, set it in the device as a starting point.  Also enter your heart rate information as best you can.

    Second, the algorithms work better after they "learn" more about your power capabilities and how your heart responds.  The estimates may improve after a couple of weeks of regular use.

    One more thing about recovery time: it doesn't mean that you should have to rest for the entire time shown.  It only means that it could take that long to be fully recovered.  Usually an athlete alternates between periods where they train without fully recovering, and periods where recovery is more complete.
