VO2max not synching from Fenix 5+ to 830

Yesterday I did a ride without Zwift and I also tracked the activity on my F5+ to get the VO2max and Training effect.  I did not use my 830.  When I was done my VO2 was increased and downloaded to GC successfully.  However when I went to ensure my 830 was updated with the Physio True up the VO2 value did not update on the 830.  As well the ride I did was not sent to the 830.  I have done multiple syncs for the 830 but does not seem to be picking up the details.  Anyone else have this issue?

  • I have had this issue again today.  Was going to call Garmin.  VO2max not updated as well as several rides missing to be uploaded to the 830.  However the Yoga activity I did after the last ride did upload (?).

  • So I used Garmin chat support and the tech did not know basic Edge 830 details, such as the fact you can have more than just Garmin activities pushed to it.  He could not explain why my Edge stopped syncing activities after Friday afternoon and only sync’d a yoga activity done today (Monday).  I called in because my Vo2max was updated by my F5+ for an indoor ride last night.  The Vo2max sync’d to GC but not to the Edge even with multiple syncs and connecting to my PC.  GC also said the last sync was last Friday afternoon.  I was told over and over that yoga exercises do not update Vo2max...duh.  Had to hang up because they were clearly dealing with other chats and not paying attention to me.  Figured I would try again later and hope for a better resource.  Normally Garmin support is A+++.  Not today.

In the end I just reset my Edge and now everything has sync’d properly.

  • i have had a similar prob, my vo2max change wasn't synced from Edge to GC, as soon as Garmin recommend me to disable WLAN on Edge, the vo2max sync worked again!
So it's possible in your case is a prob with WLAN too?

  • Wasn’t using WLAN Slight frown
