Apps for Edge 830

Just upgraded from an Edge 820 to the 830 unit. I've been pretty sure that all the apps I was using with the 820 would be OK with the 830 also. Unfortunately a lot (?) of them are not compartible with the 830 (i.e. Cog display, My Edge 1 etc). Even apps which are compatble with the 1030, which seems to be "identical" to the 830, won't apply to the 830 device.                      Any idea about the incompatibility of apps with this device ?

    "Compatible devices" means the devices the app has been compiled for. It doesn't necessarily mean the app can't work on non-included devices. The 830 is a more-capable device than the 820. If an app works on the 820, it's almost certain the app could be made to work on the 830 (and, usually, without much work).

    With new devices, developers have to do some work to add the new device to their app.

    Usually, that's not that hard, especially if the device is similar to an existing device.

    The "My Edge" app was last updated on July 10, 2018.

    It just seems the developer just hasn't dealt with the new 830 or the 530.

    I'd suggest using the "Contact developer" link on the right side of the App Info page and ask them about it.
