Garmin Edge 830 battery life

I have the same issue as others are reporting re sometimes, not always, getting complete battery drain when the unit is supposedly switched off. Too often I go to the bike and can't turn Garmin on because the battery's gone flat. Very frustrating. Otherwise like it a lot. Answers please Garmin.

My battery loses a few percent, but it takes a long time. 2 weeks anyway.
But today I lost 15% of the battery in a 1-hour drive. That is a lot. Normally that is much less. Have nothing extra on or off. Software version 5.0.

Mine goes to 97% in the morning after being fully charged to 100% the night before, and i turned it off completely and not on sleep mode. i dunno why...

It's not the 3% that bothers me, it's losing all the rest over a couple of days when supposedly switched off. Have now realised if I press and hold the on/off button to switch it off rather than just clicking it off then a screen comes up offering sleep or power off options, I hope selecting the power off will solve it.

Pressing the power button for like 2sec will completely power off the device, a quick press will just put it on standby mode therefore still consuming battery... but hope that will solve your issue.
