Garmin Edge 830 continuously pauses/restarts while riding..

I have been experiencing continuous pauses/restarts in my garmin edge while i am in the middle of a ride, actually riding  / pedalling.. how can this be avoided as it is annoying..

  • You can turn auto pause off.  Or, to make it work more reliably, I use a separate speed/wheel sensor, set auto pause to manual at 3mph or 5kph.

  • i suppose the autopause is on your Edge and you have (unfortunately) many gps reception lost (due to bad GPS antenna design and/or weak GPS chipset firmware coding). So turn off the autopause and if you will have a gps lost again your Edge wont pause . (i know, it is not the final solution, it is only an emergency solution...)

  • Same problem with mine. I think it is more of a gps lost signal issue. tried turning off auto pause but still the same

  • The Edge won't pause recording if it loses GPS lock.  It keeps recording time and all the sensor data it receives (HR, Power, speed, cadence, if so equipped).  If it's actually pausing, it's doing so because auto-pause is set and being activated for some reason like loss of GPS lock or loss of wheel sensor signal.
