How to get back the home screen

You need to tap on the bottom 1/4 of the screen to bring the home navigation bar. It might take a slight tap and hold.

Thanks for the suggestion, but Ive definitely tried that and nothing happens no matter how long I keep touching the screen (at least within reason).  I contacted Garmin support and they said you had to tap in the middle of the screen, not the bottom.  But that doesnt work either.  

Sounds like the screen is locked. Try a tap of the power button to unlock. Swiping between screens still works when locked. I also think you have to be on a data screen to go back to home, not a navigation screen.

I find I can pretty much tap anywhere on any screen. On a map screen you have to tap twice as the first tap brings up the map zoom buttons.

However if where you are tapping is a ciq datafield, unless the developer has added the on tap action to bring up the navigation bar to the datafield nothing will happen. So if it's a full screen datafield you would have to swipe to another screen 1st

OK, Ill try that today.  But if the screen is locked, does it stay that way even if the unit is shut down and restarted?  I would think that it would be unlocked to begin with.  

Isn't there a yellow border when the screen is locked?

I never see a yellow border on the device.

I see a yellow line framing the screen.  I didn't know what it meant at first.  But I had the screen locked at the time.  Maybe it's something else.

I think the yellow frame is indicating that it’s paused.  Sorry for the confusion.
