why can not 830 display openstreetmap

i downloaded jp map on openstreetmap website and copied it to garmin folder not renamed it.

i set the map opened,but it can't display the map like the pic.i thank the extra map can be displayed，renaming is not necessary.

what should i do to fix it

Did you install a *.img file? With me it works flawlessly.

yes I copied *.img to garmin folder

Is map enabled?
Is map unicode or ANSI (English characters only)? Your Edge might not support unicode maps, mine does not (European version).

2，the map is english.my edge is asia version,it can support english

missing the „.img" at the end of file name. Rename and try again.

Just checked Japan Lite map, and it works on my Edge.

I can get "no map" view (as on your second pic) if I disabled all maps in settings actually.

FWIW:

Double check that your map is enabled/on in the activity settings (settings -> activity profile -> [profile name] -> Navigation -> Map -> About).
In the same Map menu, check map display settings, select auto-mode if another one was selected).
Japan map is only Japan, make sure you are not checking another part of the world (I bet you are ok here, this one is for completeness actually).
Check the GARMIN folder on computer, make sure there is no other file with the same name but different extension as your map .img file.
Noticed that you removed Garmin stock maps. If everything else fails, try restore the maps (Garmin Express) then disable them instead of removing them.
