problem with syncing a route while ride is busy

it is the 2nd time this happend, i'm on the road an i want to sync a route from garmin connect to my edge 830, i take the phone send the route to the device but it wont sync....

forgetting the phone and garmin, resyncing nothing happens.

when i get home frustrated i upload my ride and 5 sec later it says download complete.

suddenly the route is on the device.

it seems when you are busy with an activity the garmin wont sync as soon as it stops it syncs.

i even tried it at home with both wifi of on the phone and garmin and still worked (tought it was a 4g problem)

I have seen in several threads here that you cannot download a route while riding. You would need to stop your ride, download, then start a new ride.

Any progress on this issue? I have this too: never able to sync, and therefore send courses to the device, when an activity is in progress.

Try the Grouteloader ciq widget. It takes a little more effort but this allows you to download courses from GC, RwGPS & other sources whilst recording an activity

I can't find any app named Grouteloader, Routeloader or Route Loader in ConnectIQ. Do you have a link?

You can launch widgets but not apps

Not being able to launch IQ apps is default behavior. I hoped that the new course sync function (https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2020/05/garmin-launches-strava-komoot-route-sync-works-on-devices-a-decade-old.html) would allow me to load routes during an activity. But because it does not sync either I still cannot get routes on my device while out on the road.

GRouteLoader Widget could be an interesting workaround, but I don't want to make all my routes public.
