Start a connect iq app when an activity is allready recording ?

Want to start a connect iq app (trailforks), mid ride during an activity recording, when i do so it says, activity is running, stop and save activity before you open a connect iq app.

This way i have to stop and save activity, start trailforks and then start a new activity, seems a bit inconvienent, 2 activities for one ride.

Is there a workaround for this, i know fenix 3 watch you have the option to save the activity and restart your activity on a later time, that would work for me, couldn`t find this option.

Please help......

    Nobody ? Not even official Garmin support, come on guy`s, i know you read the forums.......... Disappointed

    I was searching this same thing just now. I wanted to use it for Strava Routes IQ during a ride yesterday. I don't understand how/why this would be so hard to implement. A response from garmin saying it's more complicated than simply allowing it would satisfy my curiosity.
